目黒大鳥神社の酉の市に行き、熊手を初めて購入。翌年の酉の市でより大きな熊手を買うのがいいとのこと。来年また大鳥神社に来て今年よりも大きい熊手が買えるように頑張ると神様に約束して来ました。
Today was the first Tori-no-ichi this year. It is held at many shrines and temples in Japan, two or three times in November on the days of rooster according to the Japanese zodiac calendar. This year’s festival dates are: November 1, November 13 and November 25. Many bamboo rakes are sold in the various qualities, sizes and price ranges. The rakes are for good fortune, good luck and good business. Starting with the first rake being the smallest and simplest, you take the rake back to the same shrine in the following year and get a new one that is bigger.
